ENLIVEN’S COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE

Posted 2 February 2022

ENLIVEN’s second Community of Practice (COP) event will take place on Wednesday 9th March at 09:30AM. We will be providing an update on the ENLIVEN project and hearing from some inspiring speakers about their latest activities.

We are delighted to announce that Neil Warren from Living Options and Gordon Guest from Disabled Ramblers have kindly confirmed to give talks at the upcoming ENLIVEN COP, on 9th March

Neil Warren is Project Manager of Countryside Mobility, an award winning initiative of the disability charity, Living Options Devon. It partners with around 50 outdoor attractions and beauty spots (mainly in South West England) to operate a hire network of all-terrain mobility scooters which enable visitors to explore with friends and family. Gordon Guest is a member of the Disabled Ramblers and has been involved in Miles without Stiles, a new project to open up accessible routes on Dartmoor National Park:  Project opens wheelchair accessible routes on Dartmoor – BBC News.

ENLIVEN’s COP is a generative and supportive space of learning. Our goal is to bring together businesses and organisations at various stages of dementia-friendly transition, to build connections and share insights, visions and experiences. We hope that the COP will be a space where best practice is shared and developed and where businesses can troubleshoot, tap into distributed knowledge and establish a community of learning.

A third meeting for the COP is planned for June – please watch this space for further details!  Contact the team to find out more: ENLIVEN@exeter.ac.uk
